This isn’t something new, but each and every time you see something like this, you can’t but stop and look at it, and say “that’s really nice, and I should do the same thing”. Today, we’re having one of the most common visual optical illusions on display. However, this doesn’t mean that it’s less fascinating.
There are many illusions like this available online, but, we only decided to show you one, because, well, you’ve seen one, you’ve pretty much seen all the others. They are variations on the same theme.
What to see?
Because taking photos of the sun without a semi-professional or professional camera it’s hard, most people prefer taking pictures of a moon, especially in a starry night with a full moon. That’s a whole lot easier.
As you see, it seems like the man is holding the moon in his hands, just like he would hold a ball. A hot ball of fire, but a ball nevertheless! And that’s pretty much all there is to it. Of course, there are lots of ways that you can create such an illusion, and we’re inviting you to discover more and more ways, and send your photos to us!
How it works
There’s nothing more to it than a trick of perception. We all know that far away objects seem lots smaller than they are. And since the moon is far, far away, it’s really easy to position oneself or someone in front of the camera so that the moon seems bigger or smaller. It all depends on the effect that wants to be created. However, these are great visual optical illusions nevertheless.
